‘I am confident that I can spend as much time with a patient as is necessary’
Due to the retirement of one of our team, an exciting prospect has become available for a dynamic, forward thinking nurse to join our fabulous highly skilled team.
Whilst our focus is the patient who wishes to die at home, we provide support and advice to the whole family, giving an opportunity to deliver holistic care to the whole household. The hospice at home team visited 440 patients at home last year, they provided symptom control, emotional, psychological and spiritual support whilst also providing hands on care.
The sister/charge nurse is responsible for planning the care for our patients working with statutory services such as GPs and Community Nursing Services. They also mentor and supervise our team of SHCAs and deliver both formal and informal education.
The successful candidate would need to have a post reg qualification in palliative care and desirably community and managerial experience, along with having excellent IT skills. The ability to work autonomously and communicate well with the wider MDT is essential.
The postholder would be working 11.5 hr shifts and would be required to rotate between days and nights to cover the needs of the service.
