Regular Giving at Rowcroft Hospice
When families are faced with a life-limiting illness, making the most of every moment they have left together is vitally important. Supporting Rowcroft with a monthly gift is one of the best ways to do that.
The reliable income from monthly gifts helps us to plan for the future and ensures that, whether it’s days, hours or just minutes, our team of doctors, nurses and other specialists have the support they need to make every moment the best it possibly can be.
Helping families make the most of the time they have
James Waring was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 38, just weeks after getting married. Over the following three years, he lost his speech and use of the right side of his body, needing round-the-clock care from his wife Janie, who was also caring for their 20-monthold daughter Harriet.
When the emotional and physical strain of caring for her husband became too much for Janie, a Rowcroft nurse stepped in. She took over James’ care at home, sitting by his specialist bed throughout the night so Janie could get some rest knowing James was in safe hands.
The nurse’s calming presence put the family at ease, even at such frightening and overwhelming times, allowing the three to concentrate on being a family again. And when James finally passed away, our nurse held Janie’s hand in those final hours and beyond.
Because of your monthly gift, somebody else like James could make the most of the time they have together.
