We are committed to making every day the best day possible for people living with life-limiting illnesses across South Devon, and providing comfort and support to families coping with the hardest days.

Irrespective of diagnosis or circumstance we want to be there for you – our services are available to all those living with a life-limiting illness over 18 years old, and their families, completely free of charge.

From offering advice and emotional support, to specialist end of life palliative care, we are here to help.

Our team of doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, physiotherapists, complementary therapists, bereavement counsellors and support staff work tirelessly for thousands of patients and their families every year.

We are immensely proud of our care, which is recognised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as ‘Outstanding’.

We are also very fortunate to have a wonderful team of volunteers. Whether they’re manning our reception desk, helping to organise a fundraising event, or passing you a hot cup of tea, these volunteers make a real difference to the hospice and our patients.

Most of our work is delivered out in the community, in people’s homes, residential homes and hospitals.

But for patients with more complex needs, or those visiting for outpatient appointments, our specialist Inpatient Unit and Outpatient Centre are set in a tranquil, peaceful setting atop the beautiful Torbay, nestled among 22 acres of gardens and woodland.

Supporting Rowcroft

The vast majority of our funding comes from the incredible generosity of our community, without whom we simply would not be able to fund our services.

There are so many ways you can raise funds to support our work: from making a regular, monthly donation to playing the Rowcroft lottery, to trekking the Great Wall of China, to strolling the Sleep Walk! Every pound raised helps families to make the most of each and every day.

Our future

The UK’s population is growing, and people are living for longer.

That means that more people are likely to need our help each year. Our goal is to increase our provision so that we can support one in two people with a life-limiting illness in South Devon by 2023, and two in three by 2030.

If you’d like to find out how we plan to achieve this, please take a look at our five year strategy.
