Make or update your Will
Leave a legacy and enrich the last moments of someone’s life.
Rowcroft’s Make a Will week is a great time to make or update your Will and support your local charity.
For one week only, from 12 – 16 May 2025, local participating solicitors will generously donate the entire fee to Rowcroft.
The suggested donations are £175 for a simple single Will and £225 for simple mirror Wills.
For Wills requiring specialist advice, a fee can be agreed in advance.
Telephone and video call appointments may be available with some participating solicitors.
By taking part in Rowcroft’s Make a Will Week you will be supporting your local hospice, ensuring that every day is the best day possible for around 2,500 patients and their loved ones in South Devon.
Why make a Will?
Your Will gives you the freedom to pass on what is important to you, to your family, friends and charities. It gives you the control to choose what happens to your assets and makes your wishes clear.
How your gift could change lives
By making a gift to Rowcroft in your Will, you’ll help support families through the toughest of times, and you will help patients with life-limiting illnesses to make every day the best day possible.
If you would like to visit Rowcroft and see for yourself how your gift will help to continue to care for generations to come, please contact our Legacy Officer on 01803 217405
Your donations and gifts in Wills
75% of Rowcroft’s care is provided thanks to donations and gifts in Wills and your donation will help to fund support in patients’ homes, the community and at the hospice’s Inpatient Unit in Torquay.
Gareth’s Story: How Rowcroft made all the difference
Every day, Rowcroft’s teams see first-hand the difference that compassionate care can make in the last moments of someone’s life.
By taking part in Make a Will Week, you’ll help us to continue offering this vital support, providing dignity, peace, and comfort to those in their final moments.
Your support will help fund compassionate care for people like Gareth – who was cared for by the hospice before he passed away in Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit in February 2024, aged 39. Gareth’s sisters, Nicola and Lauren, remember the immediate comfort that Rowcroft’s staff provided:
“We wouldn’t have got through without them,” said Nicola. “The night he died, we were listening to music and he was surrounded by us and the staff, who had such an empathetic way of explaining what was happening and why.”
“Rowcroft had a real sense of home, rather than a hospital feel,” said Gareth’s twin sister Lauren.
Leave a gift in your Will
Once your family has been cared for and debts and expenses paid, you may want to consider leaving a gift in your Will to Rowcroft.
No matter how big or small, a gift in your Will is a really special way to ensure that our care and support can be provided to more patients and their families for generations to come.
Our local supporting law firms offer their services all year round and will give you the right advice and support when it comes to sorting out your affairs.
If you wish to make or update your Will as part of Make a Will Week please get in touch with one of the local participating solicitors and mention Rowcroft’s Make a Will Week when booking your appointment.
