Get fired up with Rowcroft’s Fire and LEGO® Walks!

Rowcroft Hospice is turning up the heat this autumn with a brand new fundraising event that promises to be a sizzling success! The hospice dares anyone over the age of 12 to take on the bold feat of walking barefoot over hot embers in the thrilling Fire Walk, while younger children can show their bravery by conquering the colourful LEGO® Walk. These exciting challenges, run by Firewalk Events, will take place in the grounds of Rowcroft Hospice on Saturday 12 October and empower you to discover and channel your inner strength. The aim is to bring families and friends together in support of the hospice: raising essential funds through sponsorship to care for patients and their loved ones across South Devon.

Mind over matter

The Fire Walk will be led by an experienced instructor from Firewalk Events, who will first deliver a training session focused on harnessing the power of the mind – a prerequisite for completing the walk. The fire, built from wood, will be ready when it has reached around 400°C – up to four times hotter than a boiling kettle. Participants will then put ‘mind over matter’ and be safely guided across the scorching embers in bare feet.

An adrenaline-filled challenge

Holly Traynor, Events and Projects Fundraiser at Rowcroft Hospice, said: “Things are hotting up here in South Devon with these intrepid challenges that offer adrenaline-filled fun for people of all ages. It’s a chance to confront your fears, test the power of your mind and body with something extraordinary, have a laugh with family and friends, and most importantly, support a cause that’s close to home. Plus, who wouldn’t want to say they’ve walked on fire or conquered the LEGO® gauntlet?!

“Every step taken in this unforgettable experience will make a real difference in caring for our patients and their loved ones across South Devon.”
