Celebrating 20 years of the Rowcroft Lottery

A winning streak for South Devon

Rowcroft Hospice is thrilled to announce the 20th anniversary of the Rowcroft Lottery, a milestone that marks two decades of community support and generosity. Since its inception in 2004, the Rowcroft Lottery has created over 33,000 prize winners, including over 1,000 winners of the £1,000 prize, and has raised enough funds to support the charity’s entire Hospice at Home service for nine years.

A special anniversary

To celebrate this special anniversary, Rowcroft Hospice is encouraging the community to join the lottery. By signing up, participants not only support a vital local charity where funds are ploughed back into caring for local people, but they also have the chance to win £1,000 or other cash prizes every Friday.

“We’re incredibly grateful to our wonderful supporters who have shown amazing generosity in making the Rowcroft Lottery such a success over the past 20 years,” says Julie Fletcher, Rowcroft’s Lottery Manager. “Every ticket purchased has helped us provide vital care to local patients with life-limiting illnesses who are facing the hardest of times.”

The Lottery’s impact

With each lottery entry costing just £1, the impact of participation is significant. Over the course of a year, a single weekly lottery entry can fund home-cooked meals for a patient in Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit for six days. Two entries per week can pay for three complementary therapy sessions for patients and their loved ones, helping to ease anxiety, stress, and tension. Three entries per week can keep Rowcroft’s Hospice at Home nurses on the road for three days, supporting patients at home across South Devon.

Since the launch of the Rowcroft Lottery in 2004, 391 members who were part of the first draw are still ‘in it to win it’ and playing the lottery today.

Making a difference

“Please join Rowcroft’s lottery on its 20th anniversary and help us to continue funding the amazing service that our dedicated nurses and care teams provide to thousands of local patients and their loved ones each year,” said Julie Fletcher. “Don’t forget you can also buy lottery entries as a truly unique and special birthday present for friends or family.”
