Richard’s story: From housebound to out-and-about with a little help from Rowcroft

As part of national Occupational Therapy Week back in November, we shared Richard’s heart-warming story to celebrate the real difference occupational therapy can make to people’s daily lives.

Richard explained the impact occupational therapy and physiotherapy made to both his physical and mental well-being after being referred to Rowcroft.

As much as he wanted to give up after being told he would never walk again, or never get down the stairs; Richard found support from Bev in physiotherapy and Julie in occupational therapy.

Our specialists can help patients move more easily, reduce aches and pains, and ease any breathlessness they may be having. This can be offered in group or one-to-one sessions at the hospice, or our team can visit the patient’s home.
