A huge thank you to Sally, and congratulations to Helen
After seven years as Chair of our Board of Trustees, Sally Scott-Bryant is stepping down from the role after serving her maximum term. Sally has given an extraordinary amount of time and dedication in this voluntary position, helping guide Rowcroft through some of its most challenging periods – from the COVID-19 pandemic to the ongoing pressures of the cost of living crisis.
“Throughout her time as Chair, Sally has been a steady and compassionate leader for Rowcroft,” says Rowcroft’s CEO Mark Hawkins. “She has championed our teams with real pride, and has consistently gone above and beyond in her commitment to our patients and families. We are profoundly grateful for the leadership she has given to Rowcroft.”
Sally first became involved with Rowcroft as a volunteer complementary therapist, joined the Board in 2017, and became Chair in 2019. We are delighted that she will continue to support Rowcroft as a trustee, and remain part of our Board.
We are also thrilled to welcome Helen Boyd as our new Chair of Trustees.
Helen joined Rowcroft five years ago and currently chairs our Finance and Investment Committee. She brings extensive experience from both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors, with expertise in communications, marketing and strategic leadership. Helen lives in Dartmouth

and co-owns Stone Tree Dairy, an award-winning farm and cheese making business. She is passionate about supporting organisations that care for people at the most vulnerable times in their lives. Helen also has significant trustee experience, including many years as Chair of Finance & General Purposes Committee at the Stroke Association.
“We are delighted to welcome Helen as our new Chair,” adds Mark. “She brings real experience, insight and warmth, and already has a strong understanding of Rowcroft and the difference we make every day. I’m very much looking forward to working with her as we continue delivering specialist end-of-life and palliative care for our South Devon community.”
We would like to thank Sally for her outstanding service as Chair and we warmly welcome Helen to the role as we continue our work supporting our patients and their loved ones.
