Norman Bellamy from Teignmouth is celebrating his 83rd birthday this March by taking on a skydive to raise money for local hospice, Rowcroft.
Norman’s wife, Marion, was supported by Rowcroft after she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She stayed in Rowcroft’s Inpatient Unit for 3 months before choosing to come home to spend her final weeks supported by Rowcroft’s Hospice at Home team.
Norman is aiming to raise £500 to support Rowcroft so that other families can benefit from the compassionate care that Marion and their family received. He will do a tandem skydive on 26th March, jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet!
Norman says “Rowcroft makes a difference to everyone they come into contact with. When the nurses came to us, they were such wonderful people, they knew their stuff and they were so understanding. I love them to bits.”
Alison Upton, Philanthropy Manager at Rowcroft adds “We are all in awe of Norman who is taking on this amazing challenge to raise money for us. It is always fabulous to see people that go out of their comfort zone to have the experience of a lifetime whilst raising money for us.
Every penny that he raises will enable Rowcroft to provide the very best, tailored, compassionate care to patients and their families in South Devon. Thank you so much Norman!”
