Rowcroft Hospice seeks local opinion amid changing healthcare landscape

As overstretched teams continue to get to grips with the challenges of COVID-19 and a rapidly changing healthcare landscape, Rowcroft Hospice is seeking the views of the South Devon community to help shape its future strategy and direction for the care of local people with life-limiting illnesses. The charity is asking all adult members of the public to spend up to ten minutes completing a short online survey. Those who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw with the chance of winning one of two generously donated prizes; a one-night stay for two with breakfast at Torquay’s Hampton by Hilton, or a £100 voucher for the Crab and Hammer (a new seafood restaurant open in Paignton).

“The COVID crisis has created new pressures and challenges and has quickened the pace of change within the healthcare sector,” says Rowcroft Hospice’s CEO Mark Hawkins. “Never before have we been forced to alter our working patterns so radically in such a short period of time. As we as a hospice adapt to the changing healthcare landscape, our patients and families are receiving care in new and different ways, for example through new working practices, and through the use of innovative technology such as digital platforms and tools. While we’re very proud of our response through the COVID pandemic, and we have many excellent examples of teamwork, innovation, learning, excellence in practice and leadership, we also know that we must remain agile, adapting over time to the constantly evolving situation and dynamics. By conducting this research, we’re taking stock and seeking to gain a deeper understanding of the views and opinions of our community, so that we can ensure our services continue to meet the needs of local people in the future.

“As a hospice, we are an integral part of our South Devon community – we are supported and funded by our community, and we serve our local community through our specialist care. We’re committed to listening to the voices of local people – their views are fundamental in helping us shape our services. We’re so grateful for the incredible support we receive from our community, and we’d really appreciate it if as many people as possible could take part in our online survey.

“We’d also like to express our thanks to Torquay’s Hampton by Hilton and the Crab and Hammer in Paignton for kindly donating the fabulous prizes.”

The survey is being carried out by HRA Global, and all survey responses will be kept confidential and anonymous.  To take part in the survey, please go to: www.rowcrofthospice.org.uk/survey or visit one of the Rowcroft Hospice shops to collect a copy. The survey will close on Sunday 29 August 2021.
