Maximise your support
Did you know that three out of four of the patients in our care are supported by donations? Less than ¼ of our costs are covered by the NHS; the rest comes from fundraising, gifts in Wills and donations. Your generous support is the reason that local people, like your friends, neighbours and loved ones, can receive expert care when they need it most. You’re why people living with a life-limiting illness in South Devon can make the most of every moment they have with their families – so thank you!
Please find below our top tips to help maximise your support and fundraising efforts.
Remember To Gift Aid it!
Gift Aid can significantly increase the value of your sponsorship money at no extra cost to those sponsoring you. If you’re using a paper sponsorship form to raise funds, please ask your sponsors to tick the Gift Aid box and fill out their details themselves – unfortunately, we can’t claim Gift Aid if you have filled out the form on their behalf, or if they haven’t included their address.
Set up a Just Giving page
Just Giving help you to raise sponsorship money easily online. You’ll be able to email colleagues, friends and family members a simple web link to your fundraising page, where they’ll be able to make a donation using a credit or debit card, or PayPal. This also means you won’t need to chase them for money after the event.
Spread the word
Tell all your friends your reasons for fundraising and share your goal – it really helps to motivate people to donate. You could put up posters at work, share your story on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and email friends and family members.
Matched giving
Matched giving can significantly increase your sponsorship money; you could ask your company to match whatever your work colleagues raise. For more information, please contact us.
Online Shopping
A fantastic and simple way to raise funds for Rowcroft is through Easyfundraising – the UK’s biggest charity shopping fundraising site. Each time you shop online with any of the 2000 well known retailers listed on the Easyfundraising website, including M&S, Argos, Amazon and John Lewis, they’ll donate a percentage of your spend to Rowcroft. It’s very simple – just visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk to register and select Rowcroft Hospice as your charity of choice.
For those of you who live in South Devon, you’ll be delighted to hear that Rowcroft is working in partnership with the Torbay grocery store, Bay Deliveries, who bring products from the local high street straight to your door – from Brixham fish to local meat, fruit, veg and so much more. Bay Deliveries’ customers can support our local farmers, shops and businesses, and at the same time raise vital income for Rowcroft Hospice. Simply use the code ROWCROFT when you buy from their website at: www.baydeliveries.co.uk and 10% of the value of your purchase will go to Rowcroft.
