Dine & Donate

Because kindness should always be on the menu 💜

Rowcroft Hospice is serving up a tasty new way for our community to support their local hospice. We’re encouraging local eateries to partner with their patrons to raise essential funds to care for patients with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, across South Devon.

Participating restaurants, cafés, and pubs invite diners to top off their bill with a dash of generosity—a small, optional £1 donation (or more if you’re feeling extra generous). Every penny goes directly to Rowcroft Hospice, helping to fund expert end-of-life care for our community.

Small change, big impact

It may not seem like much, but when a whole community of diners chip in, it adds up to something truly special.

With only 24% of Rowcroft’s funding coming from the NHS, the support of local people and businesses is the secret ingredient that keeps our services running.

Several fantastic local eateries have already joined the movement.

Lorraine Arnold, Owner of Pier Point Bar & Restaurant, on Supporting Rowcroft Hospice’s Dine & Donate Campaign:

We’re delighted to see our Invisible Chips campaign inspiring others, and we’d encourage every eatery to get involved in Rowcroft Hospice’s Dine & Donate initiative in whatever way works best for them. It doesn’t have to be Invisible Chips—it could be as simple as adding £1 to the bill or donating a set amount from a particular dish to support this incredible local charity. Our customers, both local and visiting, really appreciate and support the initiative, and it’s a great conversation starter about giving back to our community. Most importantly, our staff truly believe in it, which has made it something we are all proud to be part of.

How to get involved

Here’s a few different suggestions for ways that you can participate in Dine & Donate:

  • Add an optional charity donation to each customers’ bill. We suggest a minimum £1 donation that customers can increase if they wish.
  • Donate a set amount from a particular item on the menu (the idea being that this may boost sales).
  • Add ‘invisible chips’ or other item to the menu – this is essentially a charity donation to Rowcroft Hospice, but dressed up in a different way.

Please call Lisa Whittaker on 01803 217628 or email lisa.whittaker@rowcrofthospice.org.uk if you’d like to discuss any of the options above, or other ideas, in more detail.
