Who are the Friends of Rowcroft?
When the hospice first opened its doors back in 1982, there was only enough money in the pot for us to stay open for three months. It was in no small way due to the Friends of Rowcroft that the hospice not only stayed open but has been able to develop our services to those we see today.
Since 1982, the Friends of Rowcroft have raised over £3million, helping us to provide specialist care to many thousands of local people living with a life-limiting illness. Every year the Friends organise a variety of fundraising events, from coffee mornings to concerts, raffles to fetes, and they sell Christmas cards and merchandise in communities across South Devon.
What it means to be a Friend
By joining the Friends you’ll be helping Rowcroft to care for patients and support families at a very difficult time. We ask our Friends to make an annual gift of £12, although many of them choose to pay more by setting up a monthly subscription. Every penny is very much appreciated. Once you join, you’ll be affiliated to your local Friends branch and receive regular updates through newsletters. You’ll meet lots of lovely people and be able to help out at Friends’ events. As a Friend we ask you to help spread the word about our work and how we are funded to your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.
Become a Friend
We can only continue to provide our services free of charge thanks to the generosity of the local community. We’d love to welcome you as a Friend. It doesn’t matter how much or how little time you can spare – we‘ll be grateful for any support you can offer. If you’re looking for a way to help your local community on an ongoing basis, the Friends of Rowcroft could be for you.
