An afternoon of festive carols
The local community is invited to raise their voices and join in an afternoon of Christmas carols in support of Rowcroft Hospice at St Luke’s Church, Newton Abbot, on Sunday 6 December at 3pm.
Led by Father Matthew from St Luke’s Church, the service will feature much-loved festive carols offering a chance to sing along, enjoy the warm and merry atmosphere, and come together as a community at this special time of year.
Rowcroft’s Senior Community Fundraiser Kate Holmes will also speak about the vital work of the hospice and how the generosity of local people helps Rowcroft care for those living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as supporting the people closest to them.
Festive treats, raffle and Christmas wreaths
The afternoon will continue after the service, with festive treats and refreshments available to purchase, alongside raffle tickets and beautiful Christmas wreaths for sale.
Father Matthew said:
“We’re delighted to be hosting this special afternoon at St Luke’s and supporting the wonderful work of Rowcroft Hospice. We hope people will bring their friends and family and enjoy singing some favourite carols.”
“For many of us, Christmas is a time to look forward to being with the people we love – but for families facing a life-limiting illness, it can also be one of the hardest times of the year,” said Rowcroft’s Senior Community Fundraiser Kate Holmes. “Rowcroft’s care and support can make an enormous difference to people facing some of the most difficult moments imaginable, helping them to make the most of precious time together.
“Community events like this are a wonderful way to support that care. By coming along, singing together and enjoying the afternoon, people will also be helping Rowcroft be there for local families when they need us most. We’re incredibly grateful for every ticket, raffle entry and purchase that helps make this possible.”
Supporting local families
Tickets cost £5 per person, with proceeds helping Rowcroft continue to provide specialist care and support to local patients and their loved ones.
