What motivates companies to support The Big Tackle
We’d like to give a massive shout out to our fabulous corporate partners who support Rowcroft in a myriad of ways. These companies are integral to the success of our fundraising; for our events, their support means that more of the money raised by participants can be used for patient care. In this blog about our wonderful Big Tackle sponsors, we gain an insight into what drives local businesses to support Rowcroft in this way, and what they get out of it too.
The Big Tackle corporate sponsors
“We’re thrilled to be partnering once again with our amazing sponsors Bays Brewery, Torbay Clearance Services and WBW Solicitors for our forthcoming ‘Big Tackle’ fundraising walk on 18 March,” said Alison Upton, Rowcroft’s Philanthropy Manager. “Through these partnerships, we’re able to make The Big Tackle a really fun and successful day with its mix of walking, socialising, Six Nations rugby, beer and pasties, and ultimately we’ll raise as much money as possible to fund expert end-of-life care across South Devon. We’re so grateful to our sponsors for helping us to spread the word about the event – please do look out for their posts on social media!”
Two-way partnerships
“The hospice clearly benefits from our corporate partnerships, but we’re also aware that our sponsors gain advantages too, often in many different ways,” said Alison. “For example, their involvement may help them to: meet their corporate social responsibility aims; raise their profile; achieve the satisfaction of giving something back to benefit the local community; provide a company focus for fundraising and team-building activities; and fulfil aspirations to support the hospice that stem from personal connections and experiences of Rowcroft’s care.”
Support from WBW Solicitors
Matthew Cooper, partner in WBW’s private client team, said:
“WBW Solicitors have a long-standing relationship with Rowcroft due to the incredible and compassionate work that they undertake. We want to support the Big Tackle in 2023 to continue the fundraising effort and increase awareness. My late father was cared for by Rowcroft’s Hospice at Home team and this support was vital to me and my family.”
Torbay Clearance Services
Simon Crawshay from Torbay Clearance Services said:
“For TCS, being at the heart of our local community is part of our core ethos. ‘Giving opportunity’ is our main value, and with Rowcroft, we partner with an organisation which gives kindness, love, smiles and opportunity to so many people.
“When our team member’s sister was recovering from cancer, Rowcroft gave her love and dignity, and helped with some pampering and care, which made her feel human again. Their kindness radiates into our community. TCS couldn’t wish to support anyone more!”
Bays Brewery
Pete Salmon from Bays Brewery added:
“We are so excited to be sponsoring the event again this year. Rowcroft has touched the hearts of so many people in South Devon and it is a pleasure to be able to help the hospice. As a business we feel proud to be partnered with such a well-respected and much-loved local organisation that delivers compassionate care to people who are going through the toughest of times. We are really looking forward to taking part on the day by providing a well-deserved free beer to all participants!”
A huge thank you to our sponsors
“Thank you so much to all of our Big Tackle sponsors who not only help to fund the event but work collaboratively with us to put on the best event possible,” said Alison. “The event is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for the hospice, and it also offers our community a chance to come together to remember loved ones and to raise awareness of issues around grief and bereavement that affect us all.”
