The Male Trail is back for 2020 in support of Rowcroft Hospice

Rowcroft Hospice is proud to announce that The Male Trail is back for a second year on Saturday 7th March 2020. After a successful first year, Rowcroft Hospice is calling upon the men of South Devon to sign up for the eight mile walk across Torquay. While this event is for men, the charity is also looking for volunteers of any gender to support on the day by volunteering.

Rowcroft’s Events Manager, Alexia Croft says: “The inaugural Male Trail was a real highlight from 2019; we were overwhelmed with level of support we received from the men of South Devon, particularly for a first-time event. The atmosphere was amazing and it felt like a powerful way to bring together so many men with a shared experience of Rowcroft, who wanted to do something special to support their local hospice.

“We are so proud and grateful to receive incredible support from the local community. We can’t wait to make The Male Trail even bigger in 2020!”

As with other Rowcroft events, participants are encouraged to collect sponsorship money to help support the outstanding care Rowcroft Hospice provides for people living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. But for those that prefer not to raise money from friends and colleagues, they’ll be an option to make a one-off donation to the event in lieu of raising sponsorship.

The charity walk route conveniently passes some excellent local “watering holes” and ties in with the Six Nations Rugby game, finishing in time to watch the England Vs Wales game. All walkers will be met at the finish line with a well-deserved free pint and a hearty pasty!

Torquay Athletic Rugby Football Club Chairman, Jackie Coles, says:
“Torquay Athletic RFC is proud to host the start and finish of The Male Trail for Rowcroft again this year. We hope to build on the success of last year’s event so even more people can access Rowcroft’s incredible care when they need it most. TARFC has been established in Torquay for over a century and as such a long- standing part of the community, we feel it is important to support a key local charity that does such fantastic work helping local people and their families.”
