Ruby Ball raises tremendous total for Rowcroft Hospice

£40,000 for 40 years!

In what was described as a “magical night of music and dancing” at The Grand hotel in Torquay on Friday 9 December, Rowcroft’s Ruby Ball has so far raised an incredible £40,000 to care for patients and their families across South Devon. Celebrating our 40th anniversary, more than 400 glamorous guests attended to experience an enchanting night of entertainment that featured live music by Joey the Lips funky ten-piece band as well as a fun casino, a silent live auction and raffle, a cheese and port room, and the option to be treated to a sumptuous three-course dinner.

An overwhelming success

“We’re over the moon with the success of this fundraising event,” said Rowcroft’s Events and Projects Fundraiser Georgie Harris. “It was a truly spectacular evening to remember, with people dancing the night away and merry-making into the small hours – all for a fantastic cause.

“During this time where the need for our care has never been greater, all funds raised from the ball will go to care for patients and their loved ones who are facing the hardest times imaginable this Christmas. We’d like to thank everyone for their support including Conroy Couch jewellers, the lead sponsor for the event, and all the many other businesses and individuals who donated the fabulous auction lots, raffle prizes and other items. And we’d also like to thank all our wonderful volunteers for working so hard behind the scenes and on the night and who have been instrumental in the success of the evening. We’re so grateful to everyone.”

David Rowe, Director of Conroy Couch, said:

“It was a fabulous evening with excellent food and entertainment topped off with raising so much money for such a deserving charity.  The whole evening was fantastically organised from start to finish (well done to Georgie Harris, Rowcroft’s Events and Projects Fundraiser). I feel privileged to have been involved as the headline sponsor.”
