About the role
You will be volunteering at the Inpatient Unit, Rowcroft Hospice, on the ward reception answering queries regarding patients from family members and general administration tasks to support the Ward Clark, and tasks given by the Senior Ward Administrator or Sisters.
What we are looking for:
You will need to be proactive, possess good interpersonal and communication skills, be genuinely interested in people, able to volunteer unsupervised once trained. Have a positive outlook and be non-judgemental. Able to work with nursing staff, patients and sometimes distressed visitors. Confidentiality is utmost so we ask volunteers of the Inpatient Unit Team to be discreet, reliable and pay attention to detail.
- All aspects of the reception area and associated tasks are completed at the induction shift with the senior ward administrator
- Ongoing training and support as needed
- Comply to all policies and procedures as set by Rowcroft Hospice
- Mandatory training updated as needed
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 13.30 to 16.00
All interviews will take place on a Monday or a Friday between 10.00 and 13.00
