How can we help?
The hospice has a team of trained,
dedicated volunteers who come from diverse and varied backgrounds. They share a common wish to help those who are bereaved. Bereavement support usually takes place either in your own home or at Rowcroft Hospice and occasionally at a mutually agreed venue and offers:
• Confidentiality
• Regular reviews to see how you are doing
• Information and advice (if requested)
• Empathy and a ‘listening ear’
• Dedicated time for you
Individual support whether that is:
• Emotional
• Sign Posting
• Information and advice - from a dedicated member of the bereavement support team.
We also offer a Bereavement Support Group, providing an opportunity to meet others who have experienced a recent bereavement for mutual support. These sessions provide time for you to focus on you and your well being.
The Service runs a small library of books to help support those who are bereaved and can recommend activities to help support families.
For information on any of the above, please contact Sarah Allison, Bereavement Coordinator on 01803 217637.
